My Record of Participation in Non-timed Activities

1. Came to the class: this version is often useful to doctors, who may get called away during the lecture. Any data from the RFID employee card, even if only one "entered" date-time, is validated as "attended" and shown in the column with the heading "Came". Results are shown as "Y"=attended, or "-" =did not attend.
2. Actual time in attendance: this version requires two data items from the RFID employee card. They are compared to the times for beginning and ending the class to calculate the actual time that the employee was present while the class was in session. The column heading is "h" for hours, but in small letters to distinguish it from the next version (15:15 rule). Results are shown in hours, to 3 decimal points.
3. Time according to the 15:15 rule: this version is for departments (such as nursing), TJCHA, and more and more specialist societies, that require the student to sign in no later that 15 minutes after the lecture has started, and to remain in attendance until at least the last 15 minutes before the lecture ends. If the student fulfils these requirements, he is awarded the full time alloted for that class, regardless of what his actual time was (as calculated by version 2). Results are shown in hours to 1 decimal point.

To the right of the calculated hours column (both actual and 15:15 rule), the totals for each month and quarter, and the accumulated total for that year, are shown. The columns are indicated by the headings "m/q/y" in small letters for actual hours (version 2) and capital letters ("M/Q/Y") for the 15:15 rule. The extent of data to display can be selected by the list at the top of the screen, ranging from all data to just confirmation of attendance. The reader of this page must decide for himself which version suits his purpose best.

The contents of this table can be exported to Excel, and are restricted to whichever data was chosen to display on screen within the dotted-line frame.

Students should take note of lectures where the table indicates that a booking was made, but the student did not attend, nor did he use the system to cancel the booking (columns highlighted with a yellow background). Since this behaviour prevents other people from attending it is frowned upon by managers and from the beginning of 2010, will result in deduction of the maximum points available for that activity.
