Preface:

Most areas of this website discuss data collection, statistical analysis, quality improvement and matters directly related to the day-to-day monitoring of quality and safety in a hospital. However, in this section, we step back a bit and take more of a bird's eye look at the whole picture. This section comprises commentary on the present state of affairs in Taiwan, providing a forum for the webmaster based on experience in hospitals and conferences in Australia, Japan, and Taiwan. The tone of the articles is introspective rather dogmatic, as some of the topics discussed are problems that keep on appearing over the course of time, despite our best endeavours!
A special subsection tells part of the story of the history of this hospital, using the online fulltext version of the biography of Dr David Landsborough and photos from our hospital museum, copyright kindly waived by relevant owners.
