About Us

We are the "Department of Quality in Healthcare" in Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH), Taiwan. This department was established on July 1, 2000. In preparation, during the first two weeks of June, we interviewed a representative cross-section of hospital personnel for their views on the current status of quality management and suggestions for future development.

Personnel Changes

Tracy has left us to get married and live in Taipei. FengMei and PeiQing joined us in February, and now in July, we have QingZhen. Welcome all!

Our Logo

Represents "our hospital (CCH) completely immersed in Quality (Q)". The font is Brush Script MT and the color is magenta (in HTML language, "#ff00ff"), which looks a little 'washed-out' on the website because the image and colors were reduced for speed on the web.

We also have gone-to-town on a house slogan, which consists of three parts:

1. Can we match what others do?

We too have to develop the quality management (indicators) that other people have achieved. Of course, it does not make sense to develop ALL other quality indicators. What this refers to is the, at present, two official systems of quality indicators doing-the-rounds in Taiwan.

2. ...But do it even better

Hospital accreditation is a competitive market! The stress on "them" is only temporary as we pep-talk ourselves during the months of getting this new department up-and-running while being asked to justify its existence. We use it as a checklist each time we think we have got one new indicator up-and-running!

3. ...Breakthrough, surpass!

Naturally, as our work matures, we hope to move on from a "are we better than them" philosophy to a more comprehensive striving for excellence in its own right.

So Where's "Changhua"?

Changhua is the place with the big "Buddha" on top of the mountain, in the center of Taiwan (just south of Taichung). The county government has a website full of information (unfortunately, the site is in Chinese).
